How to identify synthetic vitamins
- Organic substances generally have common names because they come from natural food sources.
- For e.g "Lemon Grass" instead of acetate and palmitate; "Citrus" instead of "Vitamin C" or "Parsley" instead of "vitamin K"
- Find words that end with "ate" or "ide" in the list of ingredients.
- For e.g. nitrate, acetate, sodium ascorbate, sodium benzoate, chloride, hydrochloride, silicon dioxide and titanium dioxide.
- In the ingredients label search for words that begin with "dl."
- For e.g. Natural Vitamin E = d-alpha-tocopherol; Synthetic Vitamin E = dl-alpha-tocopheryl
These are the simple ways to identify synthetic vitamins , so you people out there please look out for it.
