My new hobby

Currently, the latest trend for adult hobby is doing the colouring to de-stress. I also hopped onto the bandwagon. For me, it was more of a kill my boredom during the weekends.

Here's the picture of my first colouring book.

I got it from times book shop and it is at $6.90 . For that , I would say that it is pretty decent for the designs that were printed on the book. Who would have thought of that the simple colouring stuff that we do when we were young enables us to de- stress and allows us to sleep earlier?

Daily blessing - Comparing myself to a patient who needs dialysis


Today I visited my grandmother 'cos she is always busy on the weekends. So today is her routined dialysis day. As I accompanied her while she is doing her dialysis, I just realized that that it is taxing to be on a dialysis.

The thought of going dialysis is really scary after seeing my grandmother on the dialysis. Throughout the dialysis session, she was feeling cold. Got to keep her warm by rubbing her hands. It also helps me to set my goal further to reduce weight 'cos I know I have no one to rely on when I am old.

Many at times, we youngsters are neglecting our own health due to the fast food trend and unhealthy eating habits. However, how many times are we considering our health in our old age. It is essential to take good care of our health from a young age rather than we are being plagued with the three highs, which are high blood pressure, high cholesterol and high visceral fat content.

Monday Blessing

Feeling so good that I dun have to work on a Monday. However, I really have a good rest as I was sick since last Friday. Having on the good rest was really necessary as I need to fight off the virus.
I was sort of able to refocus my heart and mind after the rest.

I am so sad that I lost my concession card for travel as I have paid $120 for it .This is only beginning of the month . Hope that I could get it back tomorrow morning back in my office.

Happy New Year 2015

 
I prepared this salad to celebrate the new year just like the Chinese new year. During Chinese new year, there must be a dish where there is fish so that one will be prosperous. So for me , this salad consist of smoked salmon and all the salad mix makes me feel happy as it really symbolize that this is the year of jubilee as what my senior pastor has preached last night.

Thoughts throughout this blogging period for the Singapore Blog Awards

Seriously, this blogging period for the Singapore Blog Awards did kind of stressed me up. It is not just about the voting only but also coming out with recipes that is not too costly and time consuming for people to make.

I did learn that baking with prima bread flour and bake king flour is a lot of difference cos the moment i ate the bread. Though I am someone who prefers to cook rather than bake,  i get to learn more about baking. Like the teaspoon , it can't be a heap must be level. Oh, one thing must make sure in baking dun ever use granulated sugar .. it is supposed to be caster sugar.

However, I also get to know new supportive blogger friends and also got to know who are really my true friends. I did actually get to learn more about myself cos entering into this blogging scene onto the big scale involves lots of courage. It is no longer about just writing for the sake of entertaining my small circle of friends.

Anyway, just wan to say a big thank you to all who have voted for me!

Sch reopens for me

Today is the first day of my school reopen for my final semester in Unisim. First time getting around the block C.  Haven gotten around block c to see if there is any canteen anot ...This term I am going to take positive psychology. As for next term , I will be taking work stress and creative psychology.

Today's lesson was practically just mostly on the definition of positive psychology and on the concept of broaden and build theory by barbara fredickson . There is also something called the flow experience and savoring.

Actually, in life which type of emotions do u focus more on ? Positive or negative?  Positive emotions help ppl to expand the perspections to view things whereas negative emotions tend to narrow the views as negative emotions will trigger fear which will cause us to go into fight or flight mode mainly for survival.

Indeed when i feel loved, i tend to perform better and also find more opportunities in life. So keep yourself happy and you will find better opportunities in life.

Unsafe containers-Which emotion(s) — joy, envy, rage, pity, or something else — do you find to be the hardest to contain?

I find the hardest to contain is rage. Rage, not only consist of jealous and envy but  also anger.
Sometimes, rage is something I feel is to deal with anger management first. Thoughts are provoking.
It is something that can cause hurt and bitterness for the rest of your life.

For me, it was bitterness and rage when I was being abused by my dad. He caused the hurt which I could never forgive him. If he thinks that he has the right to abuse me whenever we have an argument, I think is utterly wrong. The two worst attempts were that he threw a standing fan at me which till now my chest still feel painful at times and the punches and kicks that he gave. It was so painful that I had to see doctor.

My own personal opinion is that if you are planning to have kids, make sure you know that you can love them instead of abusing them. Gals out there, make sure you find a partner who is not abusive and not useless kind of guy.

Reflections on the days where I am busy

As I was reading my textbook for my exams, I was just wondering on one of the topics that I am reading. Is it true that all of us would prefer to make our decisions of our hectic workload at the early part of the morning or would it be that we would ponder first till midday then rush through the day?

For me, it seriously depends on my caffeine intake for the day. Though it seems that having to plan at the earlier part of the day is better , it also depends on what kind of body u have. For me, I am a person who performs better from afternoon onwards.

With this I would like to leave you guys out there with this verse to help you take a stock check on your life.

New Living Translation of the bible: But as I looked at everthing I had worked so hard to accomplish, it was all so meaningless- like chasing the wind, There was nothing really worthwhile anywhere.

Talent Management-part 1

What do talent management actually comprises of ? It actually encompasses developing competency models,assessment tools and framework , recruitment, training and development of employees, identifying super keepers, engagement of employees inline with the company's mission and vision, motivating the employee, retention of talent,sucession planning , integration of work life balance planning into the work place, rewards and strategic work force planning.

What do u define as talent? Talent is supposedly to be able to cultivated and developed via deliberate practice and intrinsic motivation. However, there is no doubt to what the so called in born talent as to what Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences where some of us are muscially inclined, lingustics, bodily inclined like being an athelete, mathmatically inclined, visually inclined and etc.

First time studying in National library at bugis for my exams

Today is my first time studying in national library at bugis for my exams ...i learn that one thing ...need to apply day pass for level 8 and also to bring extension plug. Met one semi-selfish man who wants to hog on to the power point for his own use where i managed to bargain with him that allow me to charge till 100% then i return him the power point.

Anyway, it is a better place to study than tampines library....

Earnings from google adsense

After blogging for about six years plus, I have finally seen my earnings from google adsense increasing. It also denotes that my writing skills have improved and also the kind of style that I have written is getting acceptance from the public.

Seriously , I was just planning to just use blog to blog about my business and daily life. Ended up I evolved a lot more about writing reviews about life style stuff. It is a happy thing cos I learnt a lot and met a lot of people.

Just like today I manage to get my favourite women's weekly magazine cos I am waiting to try out the new recipes. I will try to squeeze in some time to take some photographs for my latest new dishes creation and also some interesting programs for you guys out there to try out.

Half a year has gone past for the year 2008

Half a year has gone past for the year 2008 . Perhaps you guys should start re-evaluating your current skin condition and start to recall back what have you been eating the past half a year.
Before you start recalling back on your diet for the past half a year , i would appreciate if you guys out there take time to mediate for about half an hour.

The mediation is to also help you to calm yourself down and to start carefully plan the next half a year's diet. This later half of the year's diet will also help in the skin condition that you are going to have.

Perhaps starting the week with a short detox stint would be great as it would flush out at least the toxins for the past few months. Menu plan for the detox will be shortly provided within the week.

Start checking the routine of your daily cleansing routine. Are you missing out certain steps of them ? Are you looking into advance treatment for your skin. Do you need to replenish any skin care items or throw away some if they have expired ?
